How does it work?
A mentor works one-on-one with you, guiding you through three assignments at your own pace. Parents and godparents share one registration and discuss each topic together - in person, by phone, by video call or online. After each assignment, your mentor posts personal comments you'll read before moving on to the next one.

What are the requirements for an infant Baptism?
Contact your parish priest or deacon as soon as possible — ideally before your child is born or shortly after birth. He'll let you know your parish's specific requirements and help you schedule the Baptism. Most parishes require the parents (and sometimes the godparents) to complete a preparation course before the celebration.
Why do we need Baptism preparation?
Baptism is the gateway to the Christian life — the moment your child is welcomed into God's family and receives the gift of divine life. As parents, you are the first and most important teachers of the faith for your child (Catechism 2225). This course helps you understand what you're asking for, what you're promising, and how to live it out day by day in your home.
Can parents and godparents take the course together?
Yes — and we warmly encourage it. Parents and godparents preparing for the same child share one registration and one username. You complete each assignment together, whether side-by-side or across the miles by phone or video call. One participant submits the answers for everyone. If schedules make that impossible, parents and godparents may register separately.
What if only the parents (or only the godparents) are taking the course?
No problem. Simply answer the questions that apply to you and mark the others "n/a." Your mentor will review your answers and guide you personally.
Is an online course a valid Baptism preparation?
Many parishes and dioceses across the United States and beyond accept CatholicBaptismPrep.com as a complete preparation. The course is taught one-on-one by a mentor who walks with you personally, answers your questions, and connects you to trusted resources. At the end, a certificate is emailed to your parish.
What about your teaching method?
Our approach is progressive, gradual, and personal. Rather than simply lecturing, we invite parents and godparents to reflect on each question, share their thoughts, and then discover the beauty of Church teaching in dialogue with a real mentor. This is how faith is passed on — through real conversation, real prayer, and real relationships.
Family Reviews

4.8 out of 5
Godmother: It gave me a better understanding of the role of a Godparent, along with how I can better prepare myself for the baptism and after. This preparation definitely helped me grasp the beauty and importance of Baptism. It made me realize that it’s not just a ritual, but a way of bringing the child into something much bigger, connected to faith and family. I can see how it’s about starting a journey, not just for the child, but for everyone involved.
Godfather: I enjoyed the whole prep course, so its hard to choose which I enjoy more. But I also really did enjoy reading the passages/ parts of the bible and being able to better understand it by interpreting it to my understanding. I think the part that taught me the most was the meaning behind the symbols in Baptism, especially the roles of Priest, Prophet, and King. It showed me that Baptism is about more than just the day itself, but about the life you’re being called to live afterward.
